Anita + Tom. Toronto Island Engagement.

One of my absolute faves! This Toronto Island engagement photo session was simply great! But I guess, that’s what happens when you meet two happy, smart and funny people…. with a dog Nice scenery and some golden hour light do help too.

I was sooooo tired when I got in the car that afternoon and although I was looking forward to photographing Anita and Tom, the exhaustion after two days of photographing weddings in super hot weather was just a little too much. Anyway, we (Chris and I) arrived in crowded Toronto downtown in the early evening. Driving in traffic (yes, here even on Sunday evening!), hearing the noise of groups of people getting of the ferry was just overwhelming. But just then I felt a little bit of breeze from the like, Anita and Tommy arrived, and suddenly…. I totally forgot about being tired. Oh my god, the energy that emanates from those two people is just amazing. And did I ever mentioned that I love dogs? I really, really love dogs! (don’t worry my kitties – I love you too).

We took a few pictures on the ferry and than started exploring the island. It was still a little bit early for some of the engagement photos I wanted to take, so we stopped for a beer. I love my job! I do not drink when I work, but just imagine: nice, warm evening, perfect spot on Toronto Island, nice company, big dose of laughter…. You just gotta sit down and enjoy life. I am glad we were on the same page with Anita and Tom They are both amazing. I really like some of the candid shots I took that day; those where you can see the way they look at each other: the love, the tenderness, the passion. It is not a surprise that I had a little bit of difficulty editing their photos; I had no choice but to mix editing styles. The set is a combination of romantic, sweet, funny, sexy and dramatic. Oh well.. who said that all pics have to have the same style and coloring?!
